The Sketchbook Project - 2011

Have you guys heard of The Sketchbook Project - 2011? It's a really neat project I encourage you to go check it out!

"Thousands of sketchbooks will be exhibited at galleries and museums as they make their way on tour across the United States. After the tour, all sketchbooks will enter into the permanent collection of The Brooklyn Art Library, where they will be barcoded and available for the public to view.  Anyone - from anywhere in the world - can be a part of the project."

The Sketchbook Project: 2011

I have signed up for it, and even have one on the way for the Peanut. We are looking forward to getting our little hands on those suckers and start creating our masterpieces. It's kinda neat that you can digitally track them and see who signs them out and views them. On the other hand, would kinda suck if yours never gets viewed - at least you could have imagined it was being viewed and ogled over... Sometimes ignorance is bliss...

I would also like to issue a very warm thank you to Kim from Sandbox Gems, who also happens to make some neat handmade jewelry, as well as Claire from Thoughts from the Wells, and last but definitely NOT least tammy from Nurse's Notes, for this Versatile Blogger Award (yep, 3 awesome ladies had the same brainstorm of presenting moi with this gem):

I don't know about you, but this week seems to be a crazy one for me, and the weekend can't come fast enough...

  1. This is interesting, thanks for sharing! I am off to check it out.

  2. Thanks for sharing... this looks like a fun project.

  3. I really think that it will be. It will be neat to be able to peruse through them all :}

  4. Thanks for sharing this! Keep us updated!

  5. Your welcome, and I sure will :)

  6. That sketchbook project sounds really neat!! Too bad there isn't more hours in the day to actually do it, LOL!! I hope you post some pics of both yours and the Peanut's work. I love that you include her in all your artistic endeavours! So many parents would censor their kids to doing such advanced crafts and art projects - and you just immerse her in them. Kudos to you!

  7. Thank you Suzie. I think we are all such creative beings, and we often censor ourselves. I hope to start her out young, believing that she can do anything :)

  8. hi, new to the site, thanks.
